Job summary

EMC Insurance Companies seeks a Risk Control professional to assess policyholder operations, perform on-site surveys, and analyze exposure for actionable improvements. You will communicate results to insureds and agents to support safer, compliant practices.

Collaborating with Underwriting, Sales and Claims, you’ll tailor services to loss drivers, deliver training, and provide written recommendations to prevent losses, while building strong relationships with accounts and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in risk control or safety.
• CSP or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site risk control surveys of policyholders’ operations.
• Analyze exposure potential and controls; prepare reports.
• Advise policyholders on improving insured coverages.
• Tailor consultative services to loss drivers and exposures.
• Collaborate with risk control team and SMEs on technical questions.
• Provide updates to Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to aid renewal decisions.
• Market risk control functions through agency visits and meetings.
• Deliver on-site training and loss control surveys for accounts.
• Develop written recommendations to prevent insured losses.
• Identify accounts for ongoing or short-term service.
• Build relationships with accounts and agents.
• Other duties as assigned.
