Job summary

EMC Insurance seeks an experienced Risk Control professional to conduct on-site evaluations for niche-market policyholders and provide expert consultation. The role involves developing customized strategies to reduce insured losses, presenting findings to agents, and training team members.

Travel is required and salary ranges vary by location. This position supports underwriting decisions and participates in agency visits to promote EMC’s risk control capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire protection or related field
• Five years of experience in risk control or safety
• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional preferred

Responsibilities

• Completes on-site risk control surveys of policyholders’ operations, including niche markets
• Assesses exposure potential and communicates results to insured and agents
• Provides consultation and develops written recommendations to control hazards and reduce losses
• Customizes consultative services to address loss drivers and insured needs
• Serves as a primary technical resource within specialized focus area
• Markets risk control functions through agency visits and presentations
• Provides updates to Underwriting, Sales, and Claims to aid renewal decisions
• Delivers on-site loss control surveys and training
• Develops tailored service plans and documents in service reports
