Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and manage refrigeration and facility systems across multiple sites. You will lead advanced technical efforts in automation, controls, and energy efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and continuity.

This virtual/remote role supports operations nationwide with travel as needed and requires a strong background in ammonia/Freon systems, and capital project execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial refrigeration or cold chain engineering experience.
• Experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems and related controls.
• Experience leading multi-site operations and technical teams.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, PSM, IIAR and energy efficiency practices.
• Proficient in CMMS and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of refrigeration and facility systems.
• Provide advanced technical expertise for infrastructure, automation, and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, EHS, and vendors on strategic initiatives.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and implement uptime and reliability improvements.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop engineering standards, procedures, and system specifications.
• Support capital projects, equipment installs, and facility upgrades.
• Evaluate modernization strategies and emerging technologies for efficiency.
