Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and manage complex refrigeration and facility systems across multiple sites. You will lead cross-functional teams, guide lifecycle management, and drive reliability, energy efficiency, and technology adoption.

The role requires in-depth ammonia and Freon refrigeration expertise, multi-site leadership, and strong project mgmt skills, with significant travel. A PE or RETA CIRO certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of industrial refrigeration or cold chain experience.
• Experience with ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, HVAC, and maintenance programs.
• Willingness to travel >40%.
• PE or RETA CIRO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of facility and operational systems.
• Provide advanced technical expertise for infrastructure, automation, controls, mechanical, electrical systems.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, EHS and vendors to improve systems.
• Monitor performance, analyze trends, and improve uptime and efficiency.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop engineering standards, procedures, and system specs for consistency and compliance.
• Support capital projects from concept to startup and upgrades.
• Evaluate modernization strategies and emerging technologies for refrigeration.
• Ensure safety, environmental, regulatory, and company standards.
