Job summary

Commence is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher for Alternative Payment Model implementation and evaluation. You will design and run analyses using CMS/CMMI data, develop value-based care methodologies, and lead technical documentation and client briefings.

This remote position allows occasional travel to the Baltimore/Washington, DC area for meetings and events. Strong writing skills for federal audiences are essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics, health services research, health policy, public health, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation/evaluation experience preferred.
• Experience with two of: screening, attribution, payment design, quality measures, comparison groups, quasi-experimental evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Translate model design documents into operational methodologies using CMS/Medicare data.
• Develop and implement value-based care methodologies and scoring of quality measures.
• Design evaluations with matching, synthetic controls, and quasi-experimental designs.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and engineers to apply ML-based methods on the Commence platform.
• Lead development of methodology documents, evaluation reports, and client briefings.

Education

Ph.D. in economics, health services research, health policy, public health, or a related field
