Job summary

Commence is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher for Implementation and Evaluation of CMS/CMMI alternative payment models. You will translate policy goals into data-driven methodologies, and design both implementation and evaluation tasks using Medicare/Medicaid data and additional sources.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights and recommendations. The role offers remote work flexibility with occasional travel; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s with substantial health economics experience.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation/evaluation preferred.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid data (CCW/IDR/VRDC).
• Strong writing for federal audiences; proposal writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate policy goals into operational methodologies using Medicare/Medicaid data.
• Design and implement value-based care methodologies and attribution rules.
• Design and conduct evaluations using quasi-experimental methods.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists and engineers on research and prototypes.
• Prepare methodology documents and evaluation briefs for CMS/CMMI teams.
• Mentor junior researchers and lead project roles; manage timelines and budgets.
