Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC - Public Risk Group is seeking a Senior Property Claims Adjuster to manage complex, multi-line first party claims with a high degree of autonomy and technical expertise. You will investigate, analyze coverage, and negotiate settlements while delivering exceptional service to insureds and partners.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 5+ years in insurance claims, active state license, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant and progressive professional experience in insurance claims.
• Current Active State Adjuster's License(s).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Consistently presents oneself professionally in varied business settings.
• Advanced organizational and analytical focus with high attention to detail.
• Effective at managing time and resources to accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Problem-solving approach to business issues.

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage issues, conduct investigations, and evaluate damages and liability to determine validity of complex property claims.
• Communicate with insureds and agents and provide customer service to high standards.
• Investigate claims by interviews, assign an Independent Adjuster for on-site investigation, and prepare written correspondence.
• Analyze an estimate of structural damage using Xactimate software.
• Review contractor estimates, independent adjuster reports, appraiser reports, and engineering reports to determine extent of damages.
• Recommend reserves and settlements beyond defined authority.
• Present proposed settlement terms for claims beyond authority limits.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, contractors, and others within authority.
• Maintain claim files and documents per policy and procedures.
• Travel for meetings and meditations as needed.
