Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior System Planning Advisor to join the Energy Advisory Services unit, focusing on advisory services for system and transmission planning, data center integration, and bringing new infrastructure into the power grid. The role covers both traditional AC and technologies like HVDC, FACTS, and GETS, with a strong emphasis on regulatory and market considerations.

The position is remote, supporting planning across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission and power system planning studies, including load flow, contingency, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
• Assess system reliability and compliance with NERC, FERC, and regional standards.
• Identify transmission constraints and propose system improvements.
• Evaluate transmission expansion, grid modernization, and resilience initiatives.
• Support integration of renewable generation, BESS, DERs, and emerging technologies.
• Advise utility and energy-sector clients on long-term planning strategies.
