Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to lead performance testing across large-scale healthcare technology programs. This remote role partners with Development, Architecture, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Business teams to identify bottlenecks, measure non-functional requirements, and validate improvements.

The candidate will design load models, develop frameworks, and integrate tests into CI/CD. Strong Java, JVM tuning, and observability skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional performance testing and engineering experience.
• Experience with large-scale web, mobile, and digital apps, APIs, microservices.
• Strong knowledge of Java, JVM tuning, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools to identify bottlenecks.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead performance testing activities including planning, workload modeling, and analysis.
• Design, develop, and maintain performance testing frameworks and scripts.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Architecture, and Product to meet NFRs and SLOs.
• Establish performance baselines and identify regressions across releases.
• Provide remediation recommendations to improve scalability and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to CI/CD and AI-enabled testing initiatives.
