Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, amendments, and pay & file. This remote, part-time role offers flexible hours (20–40/wk) and overtime eligibility for overtime-eligible duties in a high-volume environment.

You will execute full-cycle payroll tax case work, research complex notices, prepare agency responses and amended returns, and mentor TP1 staff while growing your own technical depth.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years hands-on payroll tax experience across multiple states.
• Know IRS/state notices; read, identify, resolve.
• Experience with amended returns (941-X, W-2c).
• Knowledge of FICA/FUTA/FITW and deposit schedules.
• Experience in payroll service bureau or multi-client setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work, audit outputs, manage filings.
• Research and resolve complex notices from state and federal agencies.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting documentation.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns independently.
• Support correction workflows and document audit trails.
• Manage personal WIP queue and SLA-driven prioritization.
• Perform trend analyses to identify process deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor TP1 staff and seek coaching from managers.
