Kin Insurance seeks a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to translate product decisions into systems that work across states and products. You will bridge Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, Engineering, and Tech Product to define what must be built and verify correct implementation.

With 5+ years in business analysis and 3+ in P&C, you’ll own the requirements lifecycle from discovery to handoff, drive UAT, and support launch readiness for rapid state

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a business analyst, with 3+ years in P&C insurance.
• Experience translating insurance concepts into structured requirements for engineering.
• Knowledge of the insurance product lifecycle and policy administration systems.
• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings.
• Experience partnering with Engineering/IT in an Agile environment, including UAT and implementation validation.

Responsabilités

• Own the requirements lifecycle for insurance products and state‑configuration changes from discovery to handoff to Engineering and Tech Product.
• Translate product decisions (coverages, forms, endorsements, rating, eligibility, state variations) into clear requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, Tech Product, and Engineering to align decisions and deployment.
• Document current and future state processes and manage changes throughout delivery.
• Identify gaps, edge cases, dependencies, and downstream impacts across rating, policy administration, billing, claims, and reporting.
• Assess impact of proposed rules and propose alternatives to reduce friction and cost.
• Create user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria ensuring traceability from decisions to testing.
• Own requirements questions during development as the primary contact, documenting clarifications and decisions.
• Lead UAT planning, test scenarios, business reviews, and beta validation to confirm changes are implemented correctly before broader release.
• Drive launch readiness with process documentation, stakeholder communication, and improved templates and checklists.
