Lumen, the trusted network for the AI-powered world, is seeking a Senior Customer Solutions Engineer who will deliver end-to-end wavelength and Ethernet capacity solutions for customer orders from our remote work model in the U.S. You will interpret specifications and coordinate across engineering, planning, and operations to fulfill requests.

The role emphasizes hands-on solutioning, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring junior staff, with a focus on reliable, secure, and scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Ciena 6500 DWDM system.
• Experience designing DWDM system plans.
• SQL experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed and complex solutioning for Wavelength and Ethernet customer orders.
• Triggers projects utilizing the most feasible, practical and economical means.
• Performs engineering work and applied research, development and design of new projects, to include design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of equipment and devices.
• Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
• Analyzes complex Wavelength and Ethernet transport network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
• Must be capable of handling moderately complex engineering assignments.
• Resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like.
