Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Customer Solutions Engineer to deliver end-to-end solutions for customer orders by engineering wavelength and Ethernet capacity to meet all technical and service requirements. You’ll collaborate across engineering, planning, and operations to fulfill requests driven by customer demand within a remote U.S.

work setup. Responsibilities include detailed solutioning for Wavelength and Ethernet orders, project triggers, and engineering design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with Ciena 6500 DWDM systems and designing DWDM plans.
• SQL experience and ability to analyze data.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed and complex solutioning for Wavelength and Ethernet customer orders.
• Triggers projects utilizing feasible, practical and economical means.
• Performs engineering work including design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of equipment and devices.
• Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
• Analyzes complex Wavelength and Ethernet transport network systems and planning, designing, evaluating and configuring media and devices.
• Resolves interoperability problems to ensure operation across platforms.
• Configures systems to user environments.
• Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware, software and subcontractor services.
• May mentor or provide work leadership for lower level employees.
• Requires limited direction and guidance.
