Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex content delivery and networking challenges across Akamai's global network.

You will deploy, configure, operate, and maintain large-scale networks, develop alerts and dashboards, and contribute to traffic optimization, incident management, and tooling/documentation to sustain reliable internet services. Remote work from anywhere in the United States is allowed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Networking, Telecommunication Networks, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Telecommunication Networks, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and solving difficult content delivery and networking challenges.
• Deployment, configuration, operationalization, and maintenance of Akamai networks and products.
• Developing alerts and dashboards for monitoring network/mapping issues and collaborating on traffic optimization.
