Job summary

Allstate is seeking a technical leader to maintain and evolve a mission-critical backend platform that supports dealer services and revenue generation. You will design, develop, and support backend services and APIs, balancing a mature production environment with modernization efforts.

You will own architecture decisions, promote engineering best practices, and ensure reliability, performance, and security across distributed systems while collaborating with product, operations, and business

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience using C# and the .NET framework.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, including documentation and testing.
• Strong OO design principles and modern engineering practices.
• Solid knowledge of relational database design and SQL development.
• Experience with TDD and testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Experience building production services with observability (Datadog).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with modernizing apps toward .NET 8 and beyond.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and Agile collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for enterprise payment solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Contribute to architecture, development, and operation of scalable microservices.
• Apply clean code, TDD, code reviews, and automated testing practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support applications in production.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and best practices.
