Job summary

Data Society seeks a Senior Back-End Engineer to lead backend microservices while hands-on in API design, CI/CD, and security. You will direct offshore engineers, own Azure SQL cache design and REST endpoints, and ensure production readiness every sprint.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of back-end development experience with Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Fullstack engineer with backend focus capable of contributing to a React/TypeScript frontend.
• Experience leading or directing offshore back-end engineering teams.
• Strong experience designing REST APIs exposed through an API gateway (Azure APIM preferred).
• Proficiency with Azure SQL, schema design, and delta-refreshed transactional caches.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus or similar async messaging infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architectural leadership: guide backend microservices architecture and offshore team.
• Database & API layer design: own Azure SQL cache schema and REST endpoints via APIM.
• Integration & business logic: implement write-path logic through Azure Service Bus to ERP workflows.
• Pipeline compliance & security: own CI/CD pipeline security gated by Veracode SAST/SCA.
• Demos & client handoff: lead bi-weekly demos and support SIT/UAT and post-launch hypercare.
