Job summary

Allstate Insurance Company is seeking a technical leader to maintain and modernize a mission-critical backend platform that supports dealer services and revenue operations. You will design, develop, and support backend services and APIs, balancing production reliability with ongoing modernization efforts.

You will collaborate with product, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions, drive engineering best practices, and ensure scalability, security, and performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in enterprise applications.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Strong OO design and modern engineering practices.
• Relational database design and SQL optimization.
• Experience with TDD and testing frameworks (xUnit/NUnit/MSTest).
• CI/CD and DevOps using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube.
• Observability with Datadog or similar tools.
• Containerization with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience modernizing .NET applications including .NET 8.
• Excellent problem solving and communication.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum or XP environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting enterprise payment solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement across the team.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Contribute to the architecture, development, and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Apply engineering best practices including clean code, TDD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes that support reliable software delivery.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support applications in production environments.
• Contribute to the codebase while ensuring adherence to coding standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices.
