Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior NEPA Planner to shape delivery of major transportation projects across the Southeast, advancing planning through environmental approval. You will collaborate with historians, archaeologists, ecologists, and engineers while coordinating with public agencies and local governments.

The role supports hybrid or remote work and may be located in GA, TN, LA, or the Carolinas; travel up to 25% is required. Requires 8–15 years of NEPA experience and strong writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Planning or Environmental sciences.
• 8–15 years of professional NEPA experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% including overnight stays.
• Experience with GDOT is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to deliver high quality NEPA documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental planning for Southeast DOT projects.
• Prepare NEPA docs: PCEs, CEs, EAs, FONSIs, EISs.
• Lead coordination within an interdisciplinary NEPA team.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Read and interpret transportation plans and specs.
• Prepare materials for public involvement meetings.
• Maintain DOT TPro updates and Primavera schedules.
• Support business development with technical/fee proposals.
