Job summary

Versar, Inc. is seeking a Senior NEPA Specialist / Project Manager to lead federal environmental reviews and NEPA documentation. The role requires extensive NEPA expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong writing and project leadership skills.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with federal customers, and manage scope, budget, and schedule. The position offers remote or hybrid work within the United States with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, natural or cultural resources, public policy, geography, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible NEPA experience, including leadership of complex federal environmental reviews.
• Experience preparing and managing EISs, EAs, CATEX documentation, FONSIs, RODs, and supporting technical studies.
• Experience supporting U.S. federal agencies, military departments, federal installations, infrastructure programs, or federally managed environments.
• Proficiency with NEPA regulations, procedures, guidance, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEPA documentation and reviews for proposed federal actions, including EAs, EISs, CATEX, and related analyses.
• Advise federal customers on NEPA strategy, scope, schedule, risk, and documentation.
• Coordinate site visits, kick-off meetings, and stakeholder coordination activities.
• Develop purpose and need statements, proposed actions, alternatives, and mitigation commitments.
• Manage interdisciplinary studies addressing air quality, water, wetlands, cultural resources, and more.
• Prepare notices, scoping materials, and public meeting content.
