Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks a Senior NEPA Specialist / Project Manager to lead federal environmental reviews and NEPA strategy, delivering defensible analyses for complex actions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, public policy, geography, engineering or related field.
• Ten+ years of progressively responsible NEPA experience with federal actions.
• Experience preparing and managing EISs, EAs, CATEX, FONSIs, RODs, and related studies.
• Experience supporting U.S. federal agencies or federally managed environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NEPA regulations, procedures, and guidance.
• Ability to coordinate with specialists, legal counsel, and stakeholders.
• Excellent technical writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to federal sites and work in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEPA documentation and reviews for proposed federal actions, including EAs and EISs.
• Advise on NEPA strategy, review scope, schedule, risk, and agency procedures.
• Coordinate site visits, kick-off meetings, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Develop purpose and need statements, alternatives analyses, and mitigation commitments.
• Manage studies addressing air, water, wetlands, biology, culture, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate compliance with historic-preservation requirements and agency counsel.
• Prepare notices, public meetings content, comment responses, and RODs.
• Plan workshops, meetings, tribal engagement, and stakeholder coordination.
• Lead quality-control reviews ensuring clarity and traceability.
• Maintain project files, risk tracking, and auditable records.
• Collaborate with program managers, regulators, contractors, and agencies.
• Manage scope, budget, schedule, staffing, and client expectations.
