Job summary

Turner Construction Company’s Advanced Technology Group seeks an experienced Mechanical Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for data-center projects across the United States, focusing on Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection trades. This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

and reports to the Preconstruction Manager / MEP Manager. You will lead estimating for complex projects valued at $25M+, develop take-offs, coordinate with vendors, and collaborate with design teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with extensive knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Ability to formulate advanced scenarios for cost analysis based on contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and schedule.
• Leverage relationships with vendors, trade partners, and team members to elevate client service.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations confidently.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office suite.
• Supervisory experience is desirable, with ability to delegate and coordinate work.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical estimating for complex projects such as Mission Critical, Market Segment, and Government jobs with MEP package value of $25M+.
• Communicate estimate and scopes of work to stakeholders (Turner staff, architects, engineers, owners).
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Analyze site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope not indicated.
• Develop relationships with vendors and local trade partners to obtain current pricing.
• Perform constructability analysis and communicate issues to project team and stakeholders.
• Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with Design team.
• Lead integration of MEP staff during PreCon and prepare bids and proposals.
