Job summary

Jobgether on behalf of a partner company seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in the United States to lead mechanical design, equipment selection, and piping across complex industrial projects. You will guide teams, collaborate with clients, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering Retrofit, upgrade, and new facility projects.

Remote work is available with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 12 years leading engineering teams on complex design projects.
• Active PE license with ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• Proven experience delivering Design/Build and EPC projects.
• U.S. citizenship required for client assignments.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Strong expertise in mechanical equipment design, piping design, and calculations.
• Experience with CAESAR II; NozzlePro is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3/31.1, API standards.
• Experience in industrial facility retrofits and shipbuilding environments.
• HVAC and plumbing design is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership.

Responsibilities

• Translate client requirements into engineering scopes and deliverables.
• Define Basis of Design for mechanical systems.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations for safety and code compliance.
• Size equipment, prepare specifications and datasheets, evaluate bids.
• Conduct piping stress analysis with CAESAR II and NozzlePro.
• Lead mechanical and piping activities across retrofits and new installs.
• Coordinate with piping, 3D modeling, and other disciplines.
• Mentor engineers and oversee quality of scopes.
• Review drawings and P&IDs to ensure standards.
• Ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams on costs and value engineering.
• Review submittals and RFIs; support construction.
• Develop construction verification and commissioning plans.
• Support EPC project delivery balancing tech, schedule, cost.
• Travel to project sites up to 25%.
