Job summary

Mattr is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst to oversee costing, inventory, COGS, warranty, and freight analysis for manufacturing operations in a remote role. You will partner with production, finance, and supply chain to provide cost insights, drive efficiency, and support strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in cost accounting within manufacturing, strong ERP/Excel skills, and experience with inventory controls and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. A CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification is an asset
• Engineering Degree is acceptable with relevant experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on inventory, COGS, and cost control.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex cost structures, including direct and indirect manufacturing costs.
• Proven expertise in warranty cost management, freight cost analysis, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory valuation and reporting; ensure accuracy and compliance
• Develop cost accounting methods for inventory including standard costing and WIP
• Monitor inventory turnover and optimize excess/obsolete inventory
• Participate in on-site inventory counts with operations quarterly
• Analyze COGS, monitor variances, and advise on cost-saving actions
• Work with production to track direct materials, labor, overhead
• Prepare cost estimates for new products, changes and investments
• Oversee warranty expense analysis and cost monitoring
• Manage freight costs and analyze freight performance
