Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering for the Americas to lead regional pre-sales teams, drive strategic planning, and advance security-focused API solutions. The role requires strong leadership, deep API and cloud-native tech knowledge, and capability to forge cross-functional partnerships to grow bookings and retention.

The position supports Akamai FlexBase, enablinghybrid/remote work, and offers a comprehensive compensation package with performance

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Solutions Engineering, MIS or its equivalent.
• Experience managing one or more regional teams, including performance management, career coaching and mentoring.
• Experience managing the technical opportunity sales cycle.
• Experience leading and developing individual contributors.
• Expertise in API architectures (REST, GraphQL), API gateways, and frameworks (OAuth, JWT), and cloud-native ecosystems (Kubernetes, Docker) and AI Security.
• Knowledge of protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and cybersecurity (SIEM/SOAR, CI/CD).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels.
• Ability to build alignment, trust, and productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Know protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and cybersecurity (SIEM/SOAR, CI/CD), automated API discovery and testing against the OWASP API Top 10.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
• Demonstrate ability to build alignment, trust, and productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $146,300 - $263,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
