Job summary

GiveDirectly is seeking a Senior Manager, People Operations to lead payroll, data quality, and lifecycle operations for a globally distributed team. You will set operating rhythms, own the payroll calendar, and ensure compliance across jurisdictions while coaching Associates and Coordinators.

You will oversee onboarding/offboarding, ticketing, HRIS data, and compensation cycles, with a hands-on, builder mindset and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in People Operations or global payroll, incl. 2+ years leading a team.
• Experience running multi-country payroll and employer of record arrangements.
• HRIS implementation or major data quality turnaround.
• English proficiency and ability to work remotely across cultures.
• Experience in a global non-profit, international development organization, or mission-driven company with Africa presence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a payroll and People Operations team across payroll, service delivery, data, and lifecycle operations.
• Own end-to-end payroll delivery and the payroll calendar, controls, and reconciliations.
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and role changes with process ownership and SLA discipline.
• Oversee HRIS data quality and the systems roadmap, automate and improve workflows.
• Drive compensation cycles, benefits administration, and mobility transactions.
