Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager of Observability Engineering to shape enterprise observability across a multi-cloud footprint. You will mentor a high-performing team, drive OpenTelemetry adoption, and partner across engineering to deliver proactive telemetry and robust SLIs/SLOs.

The role focuses on transitioning from legacy tools to a unified observability stack, including IaC-driven pipelines, cost-aware tooling, and security-conscious DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Seven years in cloud/hybrid datacenter ops, platform engineering, or enterprise software development with focus on IaC and observability.
• Four or more years of direct people management leading engineering teams and setting strategic direction.

Responsibilities

• Talent Leadership & Team Development: recruit, mentor Senior/Staff Observability Engineers and leads, promote data-driven culture.
• Enterprise Observability Vision: roadmap for enterprise observability, integrate OpenTelemetry ecosystem.
• Architectural Oversight & GCP Migration: define standards for multi-cloud, ensure visibility for workloads migrating to GCP.
• Financial & Tooling Governance: manage vendor relations, licensing, and cloud telemetry spend.
• Technology & Platform Governance: Advocate Observability-as-Code, OpenTelemetry adoption, hybrid roadmaps.
• Operational Excellence & SLO Frameworks: implement meaningful SLIs/SLOs, improve MTTD/MTTR.
• Capacity & Telemetry Forecasting: plan telemetry data needs and budget resources for platform initiatives.
• Security & DevSecOps Integration: ensure telemetry pipelines meet compliance and data protection standards.
• Industry Leadership: represent Jack Henry at technology summits and conferences.
