Job summary

Deckers Brands seeks a Sr. Manager, Analytics & BI Engineering to own enterprise metric definitions and reporting delivery. You will lead the semantic layer design, certify metrics, and enforce governance to ensure trusted data across all reporting assets.

You will direct analytics engineers and an external BI bench, set standards for metrics and reporting, and drive scalable analytics capability across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–12 years building enterprise metrics, reporting, and BI solutions.
• 3–5+ years leading analytics/BI engineering teams.
• Experience owning an enterprise reporting platform (Power BI/Tableau/Looker/Qlik).
• Experience with semantic modeling tech (dbt/LookML/Analysis Services).
• Experience directing external delivery partners and contractors.
• Translating business questions into defined, testable metrics.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS) and dbt-modeling data.
• Strong SQL and BI language (DAX/MDX).
• Governance, performance optimization, and scalable BI patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own semantic layer as the source of enterprise metric definitions and enforce consistency across reporting assets.
• Oversee metric definitions per governance and data product functions; resolve cross-brand conflicts.
• Lead analytics engineers, BI developers, and analysts; drive coaching and career growth.
• Set engineering standards for metrics, reporting, data security, and release practices.
• Manage external BI delivery bench, capacity planning, and partner performance.
• Build reusable semantic models and reporting patterns for scalable delivery.
