Job summary

First National Technology Solutions (FNTS) is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain IBM i environments and support migrations, backups, and break/fix activities. This role focuses on IBM i OS administration, system automation, and proactive problem solving.

Remote role open to applicants nationwide in the US. Strong communication skills and independent work style are essential to succeed in FNTS's customer-focused managed services team.

Qualifications

• IBM iSeries System Administration with 10+ years experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3 and POWER systems hardware.
• Experience with MIMIX, PowerHA, BRMS and tape library/backup solutions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests with in-depth analysis to meet SLAs.
• Review issues to prevent recurrence as part of Continuous Improvement.
• Perform reporting functions for customers as requested.
• Assist DR testing/planning and OS upgrades.
• Maintain IBM i OS and LPP configurations; write system docs.
• Assist migration to FNTS or remote management setup.
