Placements24 is seeking a Senior Building Services Engineer with a specialization in HVAC for remote engagement. You will design, specify, and manage complex HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers across locations, perform energy modeling, prepare reports, and mentor junior staff while staying up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in building services with HVAC design.
• Proven ability to design and manage HVAC systems for diverse buildings.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Perform load calculations, system selection, and equipment sizing using industry-standard software.
• Develop detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications for HVAC installations.
• Conduct energy modeling to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders in a remote setting.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Oversee QA of HVAC installations during construction via remote monitoring and site visits.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards such as SANS.
• Mentor junior engineers and design technicians.
• Stay updated on new HVAC technologies and sustainable design practices.
