Job summary

Brown and Caldwell seeks a Senior Building Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to lead comprehensive HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for diverse projects. You will interpret codes and NFPA standards, size systems, and draft models using AutoCAD and Revit to develop detailed specifications.

This role supports work in the Eastern United States with hybrid options from East coast offices or remote work with travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Has achieved or is pursuing a professional license (PE).
• Minimum 5 years of building mechanical engineering experience.
• Progressing through the SMS competencies under BC's SMS Framework.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for projects.
• Interpret mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes and apply them accordingly.
• Understand and implement NFPA standards in designs.
• Size ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems for functionality.
• Draft and model systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Create detailed specifications for equipment and systems.
• Review drawings/specifications for accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines on project execution.
• Adapt to additional assignments as needs evolve.
