Job summary

RESPEC in the United States and Canada is seeking an experienced Geochemist to lead our mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting practice. You will guide geochemical characterization, modeling, and field programs across North America, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

This role offers travel, mentorship, and opportunities to shape technical services and drive growth in RESPEC's mining water, tailings, and biogeochemistry initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Geochemistry or related discipline (MS/PhD).
• Minimum 5+ years in mining geochemistry or environmental consulting.
• Proven ability to manage technical consulting projects.
• Excellent technical writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
• PG/P.Geo registration or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects.
• Direct lab and field investigations related to mine waste, mine water, and biogeochemical processes.
• Interpret geochemical, environmental, hydrogeological, and biogeochemical datasets.
• Conduct and oversee predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies.
• Lead design, construction, operation, and interpretation of laboratory testing programs.
• Review technical analyses and deliverables prepared by junior and mid-level staff.
• Prepare and review technical reports, memoranda, and client deliverables.
• Ensure technical quality and excellence across projects.
