Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership in mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting. Open to candidates in the United States and Canada, with flexible options to work remotely or from RESPEC office locations.

The role offers opportunities to lead projects, mentor professionals, and advance our biogeochemistry practice by applying data-driven technology to environmental and mining challenges across North America and beyond.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Geochemistry, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mining geochemistry or environmental consulting
• Demonstrated expertise in managing technical consulting projects
• Professional Geologist (PG/P.Geo) registration or ability to obtain
• Experience with predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies
• Ability to lead complex technical projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong client relationship and business development skills

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects
• Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste and biogeochemical processes
• Interpret geochemical datasets and modeling results
• Lead design, construction, and interpretation of laboratory testing programs
• Manage projects from initiation to completion within scope, schedule, and budget
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain client relationships
• Mentor and develop junior staff and contribute to proposals and client development
