Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership within our mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry practice. Open to candidates in the United States and Canada with flexible options to work remotely or from RESPEC offices.

Periodic travel will be required to support client engagements and field activities. You’ll lead geochemical characterization programs, predictive modeling, and biogeochemical treatment projects while mentoring staff and advancing RESPEC’s services

Qualifications

MS or PhD in Geochemistry or related field.
5+ years mining geochemistry or environmental consulting.
PG/P.Geo registration or ability to obtain.
Experience with predictive geochemical & hydrogeochemical modeling.
Proven leadership of complex technical projects & multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent technical writing, verbal, and client skills.

Responsibilities

Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects.
Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste, mine water, and biogeochemical processes.
Interpret geochemical, environmental, hydrogeological, and biogeochemical datasets.
Conduct and oversee predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies.
Lead design, construction, operation, and interpretation of laboratory testing programs.
Review technical analyses and deliverables prepared by junior staff.
Prepare and review technical reports, memoranda, and client deliverables.
