Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) in a 100% remote capacity seeks a Senior Functional Analyst - II with deep SAFe and requirements-management experience. The role collaborates with business users, IT, and leadership to elicit, document, and manage software requirements throughout the lifecycle.

You will drive backlog refinement, user-story elaboration, and acceptance criteria while coordinating with Systems Engineers. U.S. Citizenship is required for this opportunity along with a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have strong background in software development and SAFe/Agile methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication to explain technical topics.
• Strong attention to detail, customer service, and problem solving.
• Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Expertise with JIRA for requirements, testing, and defect management.

Responsibilities

• Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform agile requirement management.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
• Lead backlog refinement and decompose stories into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers to assess impact on technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain project/product backlogs and change control processes.
• Provide status metrics across the SAFe product development lifecycle.
