Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Functional Analyst - II for a fully remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. Drive requirements capture, lead ALM documentation, and manage agile backlog with a focus on SAFe practices.

The ideal candidate will mentor junior analysts and collaborate with business owners to ensure traceable, well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria. Required experience includes strong SAFe/Agile background, excellent communication, and proficiency

Qualifications

Strong background in software development and SAFe/Agile methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication, able to convey complex topics to diverse audiences.
Attention to detail, customer service orientation, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience conducting independent research to resolve complex questions.
Proficiency with JIRA and Excel within demanding project environments.

Responsibilities

Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Document requirements in ALM tools and manage them throughout the lifecycle.
Perform Agile requirement management and create/maintain user stories with acceptance criteria.
Coordinate with customers, IT, and stakeholders to document functional and technical requirements.
Conduct backlog refinement, risk/issue management, and traceability across requirements and tests.
Support development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and changes.
