Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst II for a 100% remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. Location is remote with U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

You will lead requirements capture from business users and IT, document requirements in ALM, manage the backlog, and ensure traceability across requirements, tests, and risks within an Agile SAFe environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong software development and SAFe experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting independent research to support resolution of complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Expertise with JIRA tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Document requirements in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool and manage them.
• Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
• Conduct user interviews, lead sessions, and develop business process models and specifications.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements with stakeholders.
• Elaborate user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for Requirements Management, Testing, and Defect Management to create and manage requirements, epics, and user stories.
• Collect, track, and monitor system and business requirements; validate and integrate them.
• Conduct backlog refinement sessions and coordinate with Systems Engineers.
