Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst - II for a fully remote position. The role requires extensive experience in Agile/SAFe, requirements management, and working with VA and federal processes.

Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or related field, 10 years of professional experience, and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance. The position is with the Veterans Affairs department and is 100% U.S.-based remote.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Expertise with JIRA tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Document and elaborate requirements in ALM tools with IT and leadership.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specs.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical requirements with stakeholders.
• Elaborate user stories, backlog items, and acceptance criteria.
• Use ALM tools for requirements, testing, and defect management (JIRA).
• Monitor system and business requirements and validate integration.
• Conduct backlog refinement and coordinate with Systems Engineers.
