Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to lead the capture and documentation of business requirements for software development teams in a remote U.S. based role. Qualifications

• Must possess strong software development background and SAFe/Agile methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication to diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset.
• Experience conducting independent research to resolve complex questions.
• Advanced MS Office skills including Excel.
• Proficiency with JIRA and related ALM tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams
• Collaborate with users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in ALM
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool
• Perform Agile requirement management for a product team
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models
• Gather and document business, functional, technical requirements with stakeholders
• Elaborate user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria
• Use JIRA for requirements, testing, and defect management
• Collect, track, and report system requirements across SAFe lifecycle
• Validate requirements and integration
• Conduct backlog refinement sessions
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers on impact to solutions
• Manage requirements for various projects and write client documents
• Identify risks and issues impacting progress
• Maintain and prioritize product/backlog scheduling
• Manage change control for requirements
• Develop Change Requests per policy
• Facilitate configuration management for artifacts
• Track traceability among requirements, test cases, risks
• Report execution status and metrics across Agile lifecycle
• Identify required tasks and interrelationships for well-documented stories
• Become a product SME
• Lead and mentor junior analysts
• Build strong relationships with product/business owners
• Support development team to understand requirements
• Follow Scrum and deliver Sprint requirements
• Remove impediments to complete Sprints
• Provide clear qualitative/quantitative information to teams
• Support change control processes
