Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to lead requirements capture for federal work, leveraging SAFe and Agile practices. You will collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in ALM tools, manage backlogs, and drive user-story elaboration.

As a seasoned analyst with strong communication and technical skills, you will support the VA program remotely and help ensure traceability from requirements to validation.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Expertise with JIRA tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
• Develop business process models and formal specifications from user interviews.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
• Perform backlog refinement and thread requirements through SAFe Agile lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers to assess impacts on solutions.
• Write and deliver project documents to clients.
