Job summary

Horizon3 is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a fully remote team and help build scalable product experiences across backend services and modern frontend interfaces. You will collaborate with Product, Design, and peer engineers to deliver robust customer outcomes, with a heavy emphasis on backend work (80%) and frontend work (20%).

You will own mid-to-large projects end-to-end, scope technical design, implement, roll out, and iterate while maintaining high quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building backend services with Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar.
• Experience building frontend applications with React/Angular or similar.
• Experience with SQL-based relational databases in production.
• Experience building backend services on a cloud platform and familiarity with Docker.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship world-class product capabilities spanning backend services, APIs, and modern web interfaces.
• Own moderate-to-large projects end-to-end, including scoping, design, implementation, rollout and iteration.
• Help implement user-facing experiences that are clear, maintainable, and performant.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives.
• Identify and resolve technical risks, blockers, and mis-scoped work early to prevent delays.
• Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to architectural discussions with a focus on maintainability and long-term productivity.
• Write high-quality code, tests, and documentation, and provide strong reviews.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support onboarding and day-to-day growth.
• Drive ownership and continuous improvement to improve product experience.
