Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to support AC Substation systems from commissioning to ongoing maintenance. You will perform rigorous testing, diagnose issues, and provide site leadership while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, 5+ years of electrical power experience, and ability to work across US sites. Remote work options may apply, with a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Technical Schools.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven field experience in electrical power systems.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of ACIS substation apparatus, especially Circuit Breakers and Disconnect Switches.
• Experience supervising high-voltage substations is required.
• Knowledge of EHS requirements; OSHA 30 and NFPA70 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning & Start-up: perform pre-commissioning tests on HV equipment and verify instrumentation.
• Lifecycle Maintenance: conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose complex issues, document root causes, and implement solutions.
• Support the 24/7 hotline on a rotational basis.
• Read SLDs and installation procedures to ensure correct work.
• Maintain site logs and write technical reports.
