Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Senior Field Service Technician to support ACIS substation systems across the United States. You will lead on-site commissioning, start-up, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting to ensure safety, reliability, and peak performance for utility and industrial customers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, at least five years of field experience, and 75% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven field experience in electrical power systems.
• English language proficiency required.
• Travel: 75% of the time.
• Willingness to work across US project sites and hold US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning & Start-up: perform electrical and mechanical pre-commissioning tests on auxiliary systems, HV breakers, HV DS and ACIS substations plants; verify instrument functionality.
• Lifecycle Maintenance: execute preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime; conduct detailed inspections.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: serve as on-site technical lead; diagnose issues, document root causes (RCA) and implement fixes.
• Support 24/7 hotline on a rotational basis.
• Read and interpret SLDs and installation/commissioning procedures for accurate work.
