Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician to support commissioning, service, and lifecycle performance of advanced power electronics systems. You will lead on-site activities, provide expert technical guidance, and ensure safe, reliable delivery across complex electrical installations.

The role requires extensive travel (90%+) within the United States and internationally, with exposure to diverse projects across industrial, energy, and marine environments.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications or degree inElectricalEngineering.
• Strong understanding of power electronics and electrical power systems.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and interface with customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of SFCs, VFDs, low- and medium-voltage drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.
• Provide technical assistance and supervision to customers during installation and service activities.
• Conduct on-site analysis and interpret operational data; provide instruction to customers and site personnel.
• Produce accurate safety, project, and service reports; communicate status and issues to management.
• Deliver on-site guidance and training on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Support quality with root cause analyses and reports on equipment malfunctions.
• Complete site documentation including weekly safety reports and commissioning records.
• Perform on-site testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment in the field.
• Adhere to HSE policies and maintain safe, professional conduct.
