Job summary

ABB Reno, Nevada is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site service, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades for critical power equipment across the region. This role supports ABB's Power Protection and Energy Manager platforms and requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will coach technicians, prepare material lists, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate service timelines to customers while cultivating strong relationships and pursuing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience servicing critical power equipment OR Associates Degree with 6+ years' experience
• Advanced communication to varying levels within the organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
• Ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Sense of urgency and ownership; complete the job
• Must have work authorization to work in the US

Responsibilities

• On-site work with customers to identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Field service tasks and on-site troubleshooting within certified areas
• Installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and end-of-life services
• Coach and supervise technicians; train team members and customers as needed
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of parts and equipment
• Identify opportunities for product/quality improvements and communicate them
• Follow safety protocols and environmental practices
