Job summary

Coalition is seeking an experienced senior underwriter to drive profitable business with major brokers and lead enterprise accounts in the Central US, with a preference for the Greater Chicago area. You will underwrite and manage the portfolio, partner with our Sales org, and translate risk insights into sound decisions.

You will mentor other underwriters, shape portfolio strategy, and engage with cross-functional teams including CPU, product, actuarial, and claims.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of underwriting experience, incl. cyber and Tech E&O.
• Experience underwriting large/enterprise accounts (~$1B+ revenue).
• Analyze complex cyber/Tech E&O risks and impacts on underwriting.
• Bridge underwriting with broker and client needs at senior levels.
• Strong strategic thinking linking decisions to portfolio objectives.
• Mentor underwriters and influence standards and culture.
• Exec presence for high-stakes broker/client discussions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage Coalition’s largest & most complex accounts.
• Shape portfolio strategy by managing broker relationships.
• Maintain disciplined underwriting files and internal tool usage.
• Lead complex pricing/terms negotiations with CPU and carriers.
• Represent underwriting in executive discussions and market leadership.
• Mentor colleagues to raise underwriting standards.
• Collaborate with security, claims, product, actuarial, and CPU on risk.
• Engage in travel for senior broker relationship mgmt and leadership.
