Job summary

Zillow Group Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead internal tooling and data-product ecosystem for Zillow Rentals.

This leadership-first IC role sets technical direction, drives cross-team architecture, and shapes roadmaps that deliver scalable web applications and services. You will mentor senior engineers, guide design forums, and partner with product, UX, and ops to translate business goals into durable technical solutions across cloud infrastructure and data

Qualifications

10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
Experience leading technical design and delivery of complex, high-scale systems across multiple teams.
Experience mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering standards in an agile, product-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Architect and drive end-to-end design of complex, high-scale web applications and services.
Lead technical direction for multi-team initiatives and establish engineering standards.
Mentor and coach senior and staff engineers across teams.
Collaborate with product management, UX, and cross-functional partners to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
