Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers delivering cost savings and emissions reductions across a 85+ program portfolio in the Midwest. You will guide technical work, manage scope and budgets, and mentor talent while collaborating with senior leadership.

The role requires a 10+ year background in energy efficiency or sustainability consulting, 8+ years in people management, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting.
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills – VBA a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exposure to building and system modeling software such as EnergyPlus, eQuest, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across energy efficiency programs and client engagements.
• Oversee a team of engineers, assigning workloads and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
• Mentor engineers and support career development within the team.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, and staffing to meet client expectations.
• Engage with leadership to drive program design improvements and strategic planning.
• Communicate project status and technical insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
