Job summary

CLEAResult seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 10-15 engineer team across 85+ gas and electric programs in the Midwest, focusing on Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

You will guide technical strategy, manage budgets and staffing, and drive program improvements while collaborating with senior leadership and clients to deliver cost savings and emissions reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or sustainability consulting
• Minimum of 8 years of people management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills - experience with VBA a plus
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written)
• High level of motivation and interest in working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to create growth opportunities for team members
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities
• Exposure to building and system modeling software a plus - examples: Energy Plus, eQuest, JMP, NEO, TraneTrace or others

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Technical Leadership across audits, evaluations, HVAC, M&V, RCx, refrigeration, or related areas.
• Lead updates to templates, tools, and procedures reflecting client requests and industry developments.
• Oversee team engagement with evaluation contractors and utility clients.
• Guide team in applying technical knowledge effectively and ensure adherence to processes.
• Manage team workload to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of client projects.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning and career growth.
• Oversee budgets and resources to meet project delivery expectations.
• Develop scopes of work and budgets for business opportunities.
• Build relationships with engineering leadership and regional peers to align client needs.
