Job summary

PLACE Institutional is hiring a Due Diligence Quality Control Underwriter in the United States. You will partner with leadership to protect loan file accuracy, compliance, and integrity across multiple loan types, including Non-QM and government products.

You’ll review for consistency, verify documents, calculate income and DSCR, and apply investor overlays. This role supports high-volume processing with rigor and independence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of current due diligence quality control and underwriting experience.
• 3+ years reviewing Non-QM loans.
• Strong understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines and QM/ATR.
• Knowledge of DSCR and business purpose loans.
• Able to review for multiple investors with distinct overlays.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage loan files for accuracy and verify all required documents.
• Perform due diligence reviews to ensure loans meet investor guidelines.
• Analyze borrower credit, collateral, and capacity to repay, including income calculations.
• Calculate loan-to-value ratios and debt obligations.
• Review purchase contracts and title commitments; enter results into proprietary software.
• Contribute to risk analysis and recommend resolutions; stay current with guidelines.
