Job summary

PLACE Institutional is seeking a meticulous Due Diligence Quality Control Underwriter in the United States. You will partner with leadership to ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of loan files across Non-QM, Conventional, Jumbo, Government, and business purpose loans.

You’ll review, calculate income, assess risk, and help scale operations with a tech-forward approach. You’ll work independently and with teams, handling a high-volume pipeline while applying guidelines from Fannie Mae,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in due diligence QC and underwriting, incl. 3+ years with Non-QM loans.
• Strong income calculation across W-2 and self-employed borrowers.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines and QM/ATR.
• Familiar with post-close QC best practices.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage loan files for accuracy and required documents.
• Conduct due diligence reviews to ensure loans meet investor guidelines.
• Analyze borrower credit, collateral, and capacity to repay.
• Enter results into proprietary software; maintain QA standards.
• Stay current on agency and investor guidelines and participate in training.
• Manage workload to meet daily production goals and audit standards.
